CENTER FOR SPORT, HEALTH & EQUITABLE DEVELOPMENT - OPEN MEETING NOTICE

Please note, there will not be a SHED open meeting tomorrow. The Executive Committee is making steady progress on the initiatives discussed at the last session, and if you would like to get involved (including the RCC basketball service project) please get in touch with Matt Horner.

We are still awaiting the schedule for the Spring 2015 semester, so there are not confirmed meeting dates for the new year as yet. Please check back after the Winter Break for further developments. We are looking forward to another successful year of working together through SHED!

RENAISSANCE COMMUNITY CENTER - BASKETBALL VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

As many of you know there has been an ongoing effort to support clients of the Renaissance Community Center (RCC) as physical activity program providers. This has taken form in recent months as pickup basketball which simply entails setting up the court and playing basketball with clients. Dr. Flanagan's class has been the covering the manpower needs for this semester, but we need your help as her course comes to an end and before the spring class spins up.

Our commitment is for every Tuesday 9:30-11:30 between Nov 18-Dec 16 and Jan 6-Jan 27. The RCC is located behind the intersection of Tennessee and Macomb. Ideally, 2 members will attend each session; a member who is familiar with the program will accompany all first-timers. Please email Matt Horner if you would like to get involved. It is a truly rewarding experience and we need your help!
